I am astonished to read the above account of the writer’s poor experience at Glendale Liquors. I have dealt there for many years and have been more than satisfied with their wines, service, and prices. One of their employees is especially knowledgeble about wines and has given me a number of excellent recommendations at very fair prices.

I would urge the complainent to give them another try. I can only think that his experience was due to some sort of unusual abberation and is very unlikely to be repeated. (I must admit, however, that I rarely buy beer.)

Glendale Liquors does not have the deepest beer selection, but their prices are great. I buy warm cases their.

The real reason you go to Glendale is because their wine selection and prices can’t be beat anywhere… even if you pay by credit card.

I buy my kegs there .. Prices are better than everyone around .. \

When ordering an obscure brew they are always more than helpful .. When that beer is not available they always call back promptly and often reccomend (sic) a similar choices that they can get ..

I’ve shopped at Glendale for years and spent serious money there. It’s likely that you spoke with the wrong person and got someone who should never have picked up the phone. When I bought bad wine there, they offered to replace it. Barring BJ’s liquors, they have the best prices in the area. I’ll grant you that sometimes it’s tough to get the guys out of whatever they’re doing out back to answer a question, but it’s a liquor warehouse and they are allowed breaks just like everyone else.

I’ve saved so much more than $23 over the years by buying liquor at Glendale. I’ve never found them to be rude. My advice is to overlook this incident and keep shopping their — you’ll come out ahead in the end.

Glendale in Kendall Park has the best prices on the widest variety of beer … have never experienced any unpleasantness in ten years of shopping there.

I couldn’t agree with you more! Glendale is a joke, especially when all their sale prices are cash only. Canals on RT 1 kills em in selection and value.

A little slow on following thru on special orders, but all-in-all, my experiences in all 3 of their stores (particurlarly in Kendall Park ) were fine. Once, when I was questioning whether one of their single malts was peat-smoked, they actually let me borrow a book describing in detail, how that highland scotch was to taste. Nice to see that kind of service! If the beer was bad, the beer was bad…who am I to say…since I prefer scotch and tequila myself!

I have shopped at their stores for years without any problems. I find the professional staff knowledgeable and helpful. The college help, well is just that, inexperienced and prone to provide errant recommendations. Overall, you cant beat their prices, selection and service. I think the above comment is a bit harsh for 20 bucks in fancy beer. Relax, grab a Bud, and regroup. Cheers!
